WE ARE WOMEN OF VISION. BECOME A WOMEN OF VISION PARTNER TODAY.
If you have heard God’s call to serve the poor and oppressed, desire to be an agent of transformational change, and are inspired by a bold vision and sustainable solutions, we invite you to become a Women of Vision partner!
GIVE: Our love for the “least of these” becomes action through our financial support of World Vision projects. As we learn about poverty and injustice around the world, we have seen that, together, we can make a significant impact with our financial gifts. Our partnership encourages generosity as we grow in the understanding of God’s heart and the needs of his people. Women of Vision Charlotte has raised over 4 million dollars for World Vision projects in the last 20 years. ADVOCATE: Our WOV chapter has an active Advocacy committee that supports World Vision in their efforts to approach the US government as their partner. With World Vision’s help, we develop strategic relationships with key elected officials to steward their influence to impact U.S. foreign policy on behalf of children living in poverty. We also advocate through prayer. Our Spiritual Life Committee is a vital part of WOV Charlotte, and meets regularly to pray over the concerns of our projects, the people we serve and the work of World Vision. LEARN: Taking action begins with a solid understanding of the poverty and injustices affecting children, families and their communities throughout the world. Partnership meetings educate us on the root causes of poverty and oppression and World Vision’s work being done in the communities we support. We go deeper by hosting 2-3 book studies per year in order to learn more about particular issues and to have meaningful discussions about those issues. Newsletters, prayer gatherings and even trips to the communities we serve give us a greater understanding so that we can share our knowledge and bring others into the life changing work of World Vision. SERVE: Even though funding the work of World Vision in crisis areas around the world is our primary objective, our partnership comes together in Charlotte, North Carolina and Barbour County, West Virginia to address the issues of poverty and injustice right in our own backyard. Our partners volunteer to serve food, tutor, mentor, and pray with homeless men, women, and families at The Harvest Center of Charlotte. We also travel to Philippi, West Virginia twice a year to host a four-day summer camp for young girls and to deliver much needed winter coats collected each Fall by our partnership. |
