Life in all its fullness
Did you know that extreme poverty has been cut in half in the past 20 years? But the places where it is the worst are some of the most difficult to serve. Since our inception in 2000, Women of Vision Charlotte has raised over 4.5 million dollars to support World Vision’s transformational work around the world, and we have more to do!
Annually, we select World Vision projects which primarily benefit women and children impacted by extreme poverty and oppression. Our decisions are prayerfully considered, and focus where the need is great but where other funding sources may be limited. Please JOIN US as we work with World Vision toward their audacious, but attainable, goal of ending extreme poverty by 2030!

Christian Discipleship in Central Americal
The Central America Faith Project mobilizes church denominations to reach 2 million children, youth, and adults.
For children and youth growing up in violence-prone Central America, God can seem very distant. When violence or abuse is part of their everyday lives, it’s difficult for children to understand that God loves them. The Christian Discipleship in Central America project aims to equip churches and families to heal relationships and create safe places for children to experience Jesus’ love.

Kenya
Kenya Child Protection
In northwest Kenya, the potential of girls and boys to dream big is short-circuited by harmful cultural practices, violent gender norms, and lack of attention and resources for their safety and education.
Many girls undergo female genital mutilation (FGM) -- an excruciating, life-threatening procedure -- then become child brides and child mothers, worsening the situation. FGM and child marriage result in devastating loss of health, education, and hope. World Vision is tackling these complex issues through Kenya Big Dream, a child protection project with a multi-sectoral lens of education, economic empowerment, advocacy, and Empowered Worldview. It expands our prior work to create more opportunities for girls and boys to reach their potential -- and live out their dreams. |
GLOBAL EMERGENCY RESPONSE
Over the past decade, an unprecedented number of global humanitarian crises have emerged or intensified. Natural disasters like hurricanes and earthquakes can strike without warning, claiming thousands of lives in seconds. Man-made crises such as war and political instability simmer and progress over time, putting millions at risk over the long term. Through the Global Emergency Response Fund, World Vision aims to help people who have lost homes, possessions, and loved ones—and is invested in providing support in unstable, challenging places where the greatest needs exist.

US Programs
Appalachia
Over 16% of children under 18 live in poverty in the United States, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Since 1981, World Vision U.S. Programs has worked to create environments in which all children are healthy, educated, cared for, protected, thriving, and participating in their communities.
Our Appalachia project helps girls in Barber County, West Virginia, attend Camp Appalachia; provides winter coats for youth; and supports World Vision’s KidREACH afterschool program with a social emotional learning specialist, supplies for STEM, food at student gatherings and staff trainings, and coverage of other program expenses. |
